NEWS

2008 seems to be the year for Doric String Quartet. After winning first-prize at the 5th Osaka Chamber Music Competition and second-prize at the 2nd Premio Borciani Competition, they recently were awarded the Ensemble Prize at the prestigious 2008 Meckenburg-Vorpommern Festival in Germany. This is one of the biggest and most important yearly event in Germany and last for three months every summer. With this they have reserved an invitation to perform at the festival for the rest of their career.
Doric is on their way to Japan for a concert tour which will take place for a month. Classicorp, who will be running the next season of Chamber Music Series, is on the final process of bringing the 4 young musicians to Indonesia. Let's hope that they will return and continue to perform to their loyal audience here!
Some other artists to appear next year are the Aquinas Piano Trio and the T'ang Quartet from our neighboring country, Singapore. Old friends like the cellist Damien Ventula and Sam Haywood will return and perform some trio with the clarinettist Katherine Ann Spencer. Classicorp will also do more educational projects and have prepared some chamber music concerts by local musicians.
Check back this page for some more news. We look forward to receiving you at our events!
