Guillaume Dutrieux was born in 1973 in Paris from musicians parents. He fell in love with trumpet at the age of 9 and obtained some courses in classical trumpet and jazz piano. At 15 he studied at the American School of Modern Music where he began to meet many musicians and deepened his understanding in jazz. Afterward he entered the Paris Conservatory, majoring in jazz. There he met P. Moutal, a professor of Indian music, participated in numerous master classes from Wynton Marsalis, Steve Coleman, Daniel Humair, and collaborated with different musicians of his generations such as Pierre Bertrand and Fred Pallem.
Festivities, pleasure, diversity and curiosity are the motivations that took him all over the world to work with different types of stage like theater, fashion, studios, as well as with many kinds of music like reggae, jazz, varieties, funk, salsa, rap, and many more.
He was involved in many projects, among others Alpha Blondy, Cartier, E. Baer, Le Sacre du Tympan, Maltax, Sergent Garcia, Y. Noah, Saïan Supa Crew, “L’auberge espagnole” (the movie), le Cie du Soleil Bleu, while having a busy life as interpreter, arranger, and composer.
Today, accompanied by his mobile home-studio, he tours with la Cie Cheptel Aleïkoum in the world of contemporary circus and continues to work with his group, les Hornflakes, with which he shares his musical passion since ten years.
